Le Piantagioni del Caffè’s Yrgalem is a 100% Arabica specialty coffee sourced from the Sidama region of southern Ethiopia, one of the world’s most renowned coffee-producing regions. Cultivation takes place around the town of Yrgalem, where small-scale producers tend to the coffee trees in their family gardens—known as “coffee gardens”—upholding a tradition that has defined Ethiopian coffee cultivation for generations.

After harvesting, the ripe cherries are taken to local processing stations, where they undergo the washed process. The beans are naturally sun-dried on raised beds, which helps preserve the purity and precision of their aromatic characteristics. The coffee is grown at an altitude of 1,600–1,900 meters; it belongs to the Typica botanical variety, is harvested in November and December, and is selected exclusively for Le Piantagioni del Caffè by Abdullah Bagersh, one of the most renowned exporters and connoisseurs of Ethiopian coffee.

Yrgalem highlights the distinctive character of Sidama’s washed coffees. Its aromatic profile stands out for its floral aromas, subtle notes of bergamot, and the crisp character of citrus fruits, while its lively acidity lends freshness and balance to every sip.
